This book can be found in a chest in the Coven of Alchemists building in Maen's Domain. It shows that through largely unethical experimentation, the alchemists here were able to determine the three "Primal Emotions:" pain, pleasure, and fear.

Transcription¶
Those idiot clerics at Naharja are fools. They call our practice "barbaric" but cannot see through their own lies. We are vicious, indeed, but that viciousness is not without purpose. Through glorious torture we have determined a universal truth, one that no arcanist or mystic is privy to. The secrets of emotion... the secrets of the soul, these truths elude the erudite priests and are privy only to those willing to suffer for them. Through the use of Alchemy, we have determined the three Primal Emotions:
