This book can be found on a lectern in a house in southwestern Naharja. It discusses the five known types of flame: regular, chaotic flame claimed by Maelihs, Virtuo's Orderflame, Lai's Sacred Flame, Lailoehn's powerful flame, and a unique kind of flame from a noble pyromancer family in Lai's Domain.

There are five flames known by the learned scholars. The lowly and chaotic flame, claimed by Maelihs, is the easiest to create, requiring no more than a flint and steel. Many Maelmari rebuke this flame, flocking to the Sacred Flame. Maelihs, to his credit, is not a jealous god, and accepts worship of Lai. Many ignorant Drehmari are shocked by the knowledge that the brutish Maelmari could worship the same Aspects they do, but it is as common as it is in our civilized society.

Then, there is the Orderflame of Virtuo. This was developed by the Goddess as a means to light the rooms of her Kiln, as the chaotic fire of Mael was unfit for the edifice. It burns with a cool blue radiance, barely marking the surface it burns upon. Its light is dimmer than most, but all accounts show that it burns ceaselessly once lit.

Then there is the matter of the flame of Lailoehn. Scholars fiercely debate the nature of this flame; some claim it as a descendant of Lai's sacred flame, others claim it to be a perturbation of the natural flame, while still others claim it to be a creation of Lailoehn himself. No one seems to agree upon the matter, and Lailoehn has been unresponsive when asked. All that is known is that his fire burns brighter, hotter, and faster than any other known.

Yet there is a fifth, reclusive fire, known to few. It is held solely by a small noble family, who take up residence in Lai's Domain. It is unlike anything else known. This flame, if it could even be called that, is precise, methodical, and utterly powerful. The secrets of this flame are known only to the family that holds it, and they are loath to speak on the matter. By which method they came across such powerful pyromancy, the world might never know.
